How to Use Ultimate Blouser

Ultimate Blouser can be pre-set to blouse in either of its two positions: Fig. F At the boot top: Fig. G Down over the boot.

Blousing

Once you have set your blousing position, put on & lace up boots. From its relaxed hanging position on the boot, bring blouser straight up until the retaining straps are taught, then fasten blouser around leg as desired.

Note: At the boot top you can fasten blousers comfortably leaving up to a finger's width between the leg and blousing band. Bloused down over the boot, you can secure the blousing band snugly to keep dirt and bugs out.

Make sure socks are pulled up (see "Tips" below for keeping socks up). Tuck trouser under blousing band, making fabric of trouser flat and smooth as you tuck. Tuck trouser evenly to avoid bunched up areas. The tension from the elastic retaining straps pulling downward, oppose the trouser pulling upward. This creates a bite on the trouser to the blouser's tucked bottom edge, which keeps the trouser from easily pulling out. Bunched up areas of tucked trouser will tend to slip out from pulling. To correct, simply re-tuck the trouser under the blouser, smoothing & flattening the trouser material as you tuck. See "Tips" for adding extra grip on the trousers.

Un-blousing

Do not pull up to un-blouse trouser. Pull trouser down and out from under front of the blousing band. After pulling trouser out, insert fingers under hem of trouser. Slide fingers from front of leg to back in one quick-sturdy motion, while pulling trouser down and out.

Care

Hand wash, mild soap, warm water, no bleach, hang dry.

Tips

For an Extra Grip on the Trousers, apply E-6000

on end of Q-tip and apply a thin layer along bottom

edge of blousing bands. Please follow the cautions

and warnings using the E-6000 adhesive.

If blousing at the boot top, for best results, use trousers that hang about 4 inches below the boot top to lessen the bulkiness of tucked trouser when bloused. If trousers are long, cuff trouser in 1 inch folds until trouser hangs 2-3 inches below blousing band, then  blouse trouser keeping the fabric flat and smooth for best hold. Or, you may want to consider having your long trouser lengths altered.

To keep blouser out of the way while lacing boots, move blouser behind leg, close band and loosely secure the velcro.

To keep socks up, you can fold socks over the upper plastic posts of the blouser, so that socks won't creep down into the boot, or creep between the boot top and blouser.

Please Read " Caution & Warning " on E-6000 Tube Before Use.

Please Use Adhesive Outside, or in Well Ventilated Area as the Odor is Extremely Strong.

Prepare for E-6000 Application

Position top of boot's tongue through laces to keep out of way.

Trim loose or frayed fabric from bottom of inner boot collar. Use alcohol pads provided to clean inner boot surface where E-6000 is to be applied, Fig. A. Have paper towels ready to wipe excess adhesive from applicator.

 Apply E-6000 to Inner Boot

Press-On Tape's top end should be approximately 1.25 to 1.5 inch below boot collar's top edge when finished. The Tape should go down lengthwise next to tongue of inner boot and approximately 1 inch above inner heel. With alcohol dried, apply & spread adhesive quickly to prevent soak through on thin boot fabric. Puncture the tube using the pointer cap. Apply a single bead of adhesive starting 1 inch above heel on inner boot, along side tongue of boot, up to, or over stitching of boot collar, giving you the height specified above, Fig. B. Use applicator to spread adhesive very thin & evenly, Fig. C. Spread 1.25" wide to create a foundation for the Press-On Tape to apply to, Fig. D. When finished, the adhesive should be very thin, approximately 1/32" thick. Let dry 10 Minutes before continuing, to prevent wet adhesive from getting on back of hand. When finished with both boots, let dry 12 hours outside. Drying time may be less in hot conditions. Cures by evaporation.

Apply Press-On Tape to Dried E-6000 Foundation

Avoid touching adhesive on the back of Press-On Tape or the dried

E-6000. For best grip, the entire adhesive backing of Tape should be in contact with the dried E-6000 foundation.

Adhesive surface should now be completely dry. To apply tape, partly peel protective backing at one end of tape. Apply end of Tape next to the tongue of inner boot & below, or on the stitching of collar, whichever makes the Tape's end 1.25 to 1.5 inch below collar. Once the end of Tape is applied, slowly peel remaining backing, applying Tape straight down on dried foundation as you peel, Fig. E. With Tape applied, press entire length of Tape firmly using palm of hand. Use fingers to firmly press down the corners and edges. With Tape applied to both sides of inner boot, let Tape set for several hours before attaching blousers to the combat boots.

Blousing at the Boot Top

Place right side of blousing band on top right side boot collar ,Fig. F. Hold blouser as shown, and align retaining strap with the Press-On Tape. Remove slack from retaining strap making it taught, then secure the Velcro. With blouser sitting on boot top, the straps should be slightly tense, but not over stretched. Repeat step with the left side and the blouser is set to blouse in the same position every time. When set to the boot top, the blouser should sit snugly on the boot top.

Blousing Over the Boot

Hold the right side of blousing band in your desired position around the outer right side of boot, Fig. G. Remove slack from retaining strap and secure the Velcro to the inner boot. Repeat step with the left side, and the blouser is set to blouse in the same position every time. When blousing down over the boot, fasten blouser comfortably, but snugly to keep dirt and bugs out.
